Nutrients of Pasta
The association of chicken bacon ranch pasta with energy is due to the fact that the main nutrient of this food is carbohydrates, and these are the ones that must contribute the most energy in our diet. And while consuming pasta is giving the body energy that does not have a high cost of digestion, pasta is much more than hydrates and calories.
If we analyze nutritionally a portion of pasta, that is to say, about 90-100 grams dry or 200 grams in cooked, we will find that the calories that it offers us are not many, since we are talking about 340 Kcal of a meal, but besides this, it can be clearly seen that pasta offers us a lot of complex hydrates, that’s mean, not sugars, but mainly starch.
In addition, pasta offers us proteins, often derived from wheat alone and at other times, depending on the preparation, derived from the egg that is added as an ingredient.
Pasta has no cholesterol and almost no fat, so we could then topple the false myth that says pasta is fattening, because paste perfectly can be part of a diet of thinning and can even be consumed by people with diabetes, because although pasta provides many carbohydrates that in the body are transformed into glucose, we can reduce the rate at which blood glucose rises or what is equal, decrease the glycemic index of the preparation with pasta.
We cannot forget that in a generous portion of 100 grams we also found about 5 grams of fiber and micronutrients important for the body, among which are minerals such as calcium, magnesium, potassium, phosphorus and selenium; and B-complex vitamins that favor the metabolism of carbohydrates and allow a good functioning of the nervous system.
